Two Oceans 2003 Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon.

Yup..........my one guarenteed recovery day. This is my down time. Usually it means coming home from work after a long week and drinking a few beer. Lately I have developed a taste for wine, specifically the reds, so I treat myself to a couple glasses.

Heck....I`ve given up my three favorite things in the pursuit of weight loss for the upcoming cycling season; beer, bread and chocolate so a glass or two of merlot won`t hurt....will it?

Tonight`s selection - Two Oceans(South Africa). A 2003 Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon.

i really like south african wine. and australian wine is very good too and i'm not just saying that because i'm going to be stuck drinking lots of it!;)

one more comment about the wine...dogajolo (italian wine) is VERY good...a little more pricey but a nice treat.

Thanks for the tip. Keep those suggestions coming. Aussie wines are big hereabouts so we have a good variety to choose from.

I`m by no means a wine expert so i`m just trying different brands.I`ll lok for the Dogajolo...in the meantime a friend suggested Masi(Italian) and it was real good.

Cari - You leave tomorrow right? Call me...I don`t think I have your cell number.

Happy Birthday to me! Needless to say I was gobsmacked when Canada Post dropped off a box this morning from Steve at Wheels Of Mass Destruction based out of Montreal Canada. Let the record show that Steve is my brother in law but I had no idea a set of (gorgeous) carbon fibre wheels were heading my way.  Purchased a Pompei Gladius from Reliks as a gift to myself and as an addition to the existing Roman panoply in the armory. Years ago my son had bought a legionary kit and while most of the pieces were historically accurate (in a modern reproduction sense) the gladius was a stainless steel wall hanger.  I figured it was time to upgrade the kit with an appropriate blade for an enlisted Roman legionary. I opted for the Deepeeka gladius as it fitted the criteria perfectly - a simple but functional sword that was historically accurate. Made of EN45 carbon steel with a full tang diamond cross section, a guard, grip and hilt made of wood and a wood lined leather scabbard with simple bronzed accents.
