Rum - Lemon Hart Navy Demerara

Decided to make a foray into the spiced rum category with my latest bottled adventure by purchasing a 750ml bottle of Lemon Hart Navy rum.




"Rich, full-bodied, velvety smooth taste built on a firm Demerara dark rum foundation. Complex flavours of sweet dried fruits and island spices releasing a profile of freshly ground nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, butterscotch and ginger all resting on a warm vanilla swirl."


How could one resist such a description?


The added bonus was it was on sale this week at $26.99 (CDN) at the NSLC and Arctic Wolf had reviewed it quite highly with a sipping potential.

Upon opening and in the glass the rum was a brilliant copper hue possessing a very enticing scent of baking spices and toffee with an underlying sweetness promising a dessert like quality. A rum candy apple on a stick kind of appeal.

Happy Birthday to me! Needless to say I was gobsmacked when Canada Post dropped off a box this morning from Steve at Wheels Of Mass Destruction based out of Montreal Canada. Let the record show that Steve is my brother in law but I had no idea a set of (gorgeous) carbon fibre wheels were heading my way. Medieval Arrow Bag

I  finally made the decision to sell my beaded leather back quiver and replace it with a traditional medieval arrow bag. I purchased the back quiver but soon found my limited range of shoulder mobility meant I had difficulty drawing arrows. I chose to go with a leather variant of the bag complete with a sewed in spacer ring The ring prevents the bag from collapsing in upon the arrows by keeping the mouth of the bag open.
